In this course, we’ll introduce you to the software necessary to complete a basic crash and/or crime scene scaled diagram based on collected field data. You’ll learn how to build the scene in both a “top down” and 3D perspective, add text labels and pictures to the diagram, and present the completed diagram for court actions. In this advanced course, we will teach you how to enhance your crash and/or crime scene diagram to include motion, animation and dynamic events. Topics will include adding FX street lights and vehicle lights for nighttime scenes, placing motion paths to depict your report findings and recording the motion into an AVI format. We will also discuss ways to use the diagram to complete an investigation. 15 ACTAR CEUs

Learn the principles and essential skills needed to operate an Optical Total Station. In addition to the basic principles of coordinate geometry and measuring, we’ll teach you how to operate these mapping systems at a variety of actual locations and how to relocate the system while mapping a scene. New users of Trimble Capture will learn how to operate an Optical Total Station, acquire the fundamental skills to complete a basic crash and/or crime scene scaled diagram with the collected field data using an Optical Total Station. You will operate an Optical Total Station mapping system at a variety of actual locations and learn to relocate the system while mapping a scene. Other topics will include building a forensic diagram in both a “top-down” and 3D perspective in Trimble Forensics Reveal, presenting the completed diagram for court actions, as well as features to help complete an investigation with the completed diagram. 40 ACTAR CEUs
