Brad Ozee

Bradford Ozee has been serving as a member of the adjunct faculty of the Institute of Police Technology and Management since 2000.  Brad has instructed in all phases of traffic crash investigation and reconstruction, Police Traffic Radar and Lidar, and Police Firearms Training for the Illinois State Police Academy (ISPA) and the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB) and Illinois Mobile Training Units.

Brad began his law enforcement career with the Litchfield Police Department in May 1977 as a Patrolman.  In May 1982, he joined the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department and served as a Deputy Sheriff.  After joining the Illinois State Police in January 1984, Brad was assigned to District 18 in Litchfield as a Trooper and was appointed as the districts’ traffic crash reconstruction officer in June 1988.

Brad transferred to the District 18, General Criminal Investigation Unit in January 1993 and was appointed to the rank of Special Agent.  In May 1996, he transferred to the ISPA where he was appointed Manager of the Continuing Education and Investigative Development Section where he managed, coordinated and taught law enforcement related courses including Traffic Crash Reconstruction, Basic and Advanced Criminal Investigation, Basic and Advanced Narcotics Training, Motor Vehicle Theft, Electronic Criminal Surveillance and Counter Measures and Sworn In-Service Training.  Brad was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in September 1998.

In November 2000, Brad transferred to the Division of Internal Investigation where he was responsible for conducting investigations into alleged misconduct, corruption, conflict of interest, and malfeasance in state government including the various executive departments, agencies, commissions, and boards under the jurisdiction of the governor.

Brad retired from the Illinois State Police after 20 years of law enforcement service.  He is a lifetime member of Troopers FOP Lodge 41 and the Retired State Police Officers Association of Illinois and is a member of the Illinois Association of Technical Accident Investigators.

Brad is currently the Chief of Police of the Nokomis Police Department, Nokomis, Illinois.
