Mark Panaccione

Major Mark J. Panaccione is a 30 year veteran of law enforcement, working in both Massachusetts and Connecticut. He recently retired from the Connecticut State Police as a State Police Major assigned as the Commanding Officer of the Bureau of Selection, Training, and Investigative Support Services. He started his law enforcement career in 1985 as an Intermittent Part-time Patrolmen in Sutton, Massachusetts, then serving as a Full-time Permanent Police Officer until 1994.

Major Panaccione started his Connecticut State Police career in 1994 as a patrol trooper assigned to Troop E Montville and served there until 1997 when he was assigned as a Resident State Trooper to the town of Old Lyme. He served there until June of 1999 when he was then assigned as the first Community Resource Officer for the Connecticut State Police, assigned to Troop F Westbrook, until his promotion to State Police Sergeant in 2000.  

During his tenure as a State Police Sergeant he worked in a variety of assignments including as a Patrol Supervisor, the executive officer and later as the commanding officer of a Statewide Narcotics Task Force Field Office, and as the Acting Executive Officer of Troop F Westbrook. He was promoted to State Police Lieutenant in 2008.

During his tenure as a State Police Lieutenant he served in the following assignments: Commanding Officer of the Field Technology Section, Executive Officer of the Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Commanding Officer of Troop K Colchester, Chief of Staff in the Office of Administrative Services, and Commanding Officer of the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transportation and Communication. He was promoted to State Police Captain in 2012 and commanded the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transportation and Communication. He was later assigned as the Commanding Officer of the Bureau of Field Technology, Infrastructure and Transportation until his promotion to State Police Major in 2013.

During his tenure as a State Police Major he served as the Commanding Officer of the Bureau of Field Technology, Infrastructure and Transportation until July of 2014 when he was assigned as the Commanding Officer of the Bureau of Selection, Training and Investigative Support Services.    

Major Panaccione has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice – Law Enforcement Administration from the University of New Haven. He also has attended the FBI New England Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar.
