Charles Presley

 

Mr. Charles C. Presley is a retired officer of the Johnson City (TN) Police Department serving from 1978 - 2008.   He held the rank of Sergeant on the department’s Traffic Homicide Team.  He worked numerous assignments with the department including serving as the Commanding Officer of the Hostage Negotiation Team and was one of the first Crisis Intervention Officers in the Department.  He was Officer of the Year in 2006 for his work in Crisis Intervention.   In addition he also taught in house crash investigation courses for the JCPD and was an adjunct instructor for the Walters State Community College, Morristown, Tennessee.

Mr. Presley has attended numerous specialized training courses, including IPTM’s Advanced Traffic Accident Investigation, Traffic Accident Reconstruction, Retraining Seminar for the Traffic Accident Investigator and Traffic Management Services; he  completed Basic Accident Investigation at the State Police Academy, Donelson, Tennessee.  He has completed Tennessee’s Instructor Development course and is certified by the state’s Police Officers Standards and Training Commission.  He has been qualified as an expert witness in the Tennessee Courts.

Mr. Presley holds an A.S. degree in Law Enforcement and B. S. Degree in Criminal Justice - East Tennessee State University.

Mr. Presley has been an adjunct instructor with I.P.T.M. since 1992.
