Josh Underwood is a 17-year veteran with the Saint Johns County (Florida) Sheriff’s Office. He is Saint Johns County Sheriff’s Office’s first full time Marine Officer and currently assigned as a Corporal to their Marine Enforcement Unit.
Josh completed training with IPTM's Marine Operations Level I and maintains a current USCG OUPV Captain’s License. He is currently an IPTM Adjunct Instructor and a NASBLA Boat Course Instructor.
Josh has advanced training in Waterborne Response Training (WRT), Tactical Operator Course, Maritime Pursuit and Stop, Tactical Boarding Officer, Natural Resource Investigations, Maritime Rad/ Nuc Detection and USCG Search and Rescue Training. Josh continues to train extensively to enhance his marine enforcement abilities and he currently sits on the NASBLA Education Standards Panel and is a member of the NASBLA Enforcement and Training committee.
Josh is currently the Maritime trainer for his agency and serves on the Saint Augustine (Florida) Harbor Safety and Security Committee. He is very active with boating safety programs in his county and has developed several programs to enhance recreational boating safety in Saint Johns County.
