Steven Carbajal has been serving as a member of the adjunct facility of the Institute of Police Technology and Management since 2008. He has instructed courses in Traffic Collision Investigation and Collision Reconstruction. Mr. Carbajal is currently the Vehicular Crimes Unit Sergeant for the Tempe (AZ) Police Department.
Mr. Carbajal began his career with the Tempe Police Department in 1997. He has completed assignments as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Solo Motor Officer, Traffic Collision Reconstructionist, and Public Information Officer. He was promoted to Police Sergeant in 2008. From 2005 to 2008 he was a detective assigned to the Tempe Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Unit.
From 2002 - 2008, Mr. Carbajal was assigned to the Tempe Police Department Traffic Bureau. While assigned to the Traffic Bureau, Mr. Carbajal specialized in Traffic Collision Reconstruction and the prosecution of impaired drives involved in fatal collisions.
Mr. Carbajal has completed training in traffic collision reconstruction from the Institute of Police Technology and Management and he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Arizona State University in 1997.
