Sgt. Greg Nottingham is a twenty-eight-year veteran of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and is currently assigned to their District One Patrol Division.
Sgt. Nottingham is certified in Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus/Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, as a Drug Recognition Expert and a QAS for the intoxilyzer 8000. He is also certified as an instructor in Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus/Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, Drug Recognition Expert and Traffic Radar Operations.
Highway safety has always been a priority for Sgt. Nottingham. He has been assigned to the East Valley DUI Task Force for the last eighteen years and has over fifteen hundred DUI arrests.
Sgt. Nottingham has been honored by MADD in 1994, 1999 and again in 2000 as the DUI officer of the year for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
Sgt. Nottingham has been involved in educating the public about impaired drivers as well as educating deputies from M.C.S.O. and officers from other agencies across the country in detection, processing, and successful prosecution of impaired drivers. Sgt. Nottingham has also been invited to speak at conferences across the country on the topic of Impaired Driving including DUI prevention seminars at local community colleges. He was also invited to participate on a congressional committee in Washington D.C. on impaired drivers. Sgt. Nottingham also teaches basic DUI at the Maricopa County Sheriff’ Office Academy.
