Teresa R. Dioquino joined the IPTM staff in 1992 as an Adjunct Faculty member. She is currently the coordinator of the IPTM Management Section, which encompasses training programs on Supervisory and Executive Development, Internal Affairs, Traffic Management curriculums, and management of assigned adjunct faculty members. Ms. Dioquino served the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office for 29 years.
Ms. Dioquino retired at the rank of Captain after commanding the Special Operations Division within the Patrol Operations Bureau. Her command was responsible for over 300 assigned personnel and the fiscal management of a $14 million budget. She was previously assigned as the Commander of the Criminal Investigations Division and the Inspections Bureau. Prior to her appointment to Captain, she was assigned as a Lieutenant in the Patrol Operations Bureau, Special Operations Division and Shift Commander for the Central District Station.
During her service with the Sheriff’s Office, she gained operational command experience in dignitary protection visits, emergency deployment response, and coordination of major special events. Her experience also entails grant management, policy and training for Administrative Investigations, supervisory development, and promotional processes within the agency. Ms. Dioquino was an assessor for the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.
Ms. Dioquino has specialized training in the DUI Instructor Curriculum, Basic and Advanced Traffic Homicide Investigation, and Traffic Crash Reconstruction. She completed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)/International Association Chiefs of Police (IACP) Drug Evaluation Classification Program as a Drug Recognition Expert and Instructor. She is also an instructor for the NHTSA/IACP Drug Impairment Training for The Educational Professional Program. Ms. Dioquino served as a Project Manager for the Florida Department of Transportation sponsored Florida Validation Study of the Standardized Field Sobriety Test Battery.
Ms. Dioquino is also an active member of the National Sheriff’s Association, Florida Sheriff’s Association and the International Association Chiefs of Police.
Ms. Dioquino received an Associate of Arts Degree in Police Administration from St. Petersburg Junior College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology from Florida State University.
