2026 IPTM Symposium on Traffic Safety: Event Recap
June 16, 2026

The 2026 IPTM Symposium on Traffic Safety, held May 17–20 in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, once again brought together a dynamic community of professionals committed to saving lives on our roadways. With an expanded program, diverse attendee base, and strong support from industry partners, this year’s Symposium delivered four days of impactful learning, collaboration, and innovation.
A Premier Learning Experience
This year’s Symposium featured 80+ sessions across two educational tracks, led by more than 40 expert presenters representing law enforcement, engineering, public health, academia, and industry. Topics reflected the evolving landscape of traffic safety, including:
- Impaired and distracted driving enforcement strategies
- Emerging vehicle technologies and crash data analysis
- Courtroom preparation and effective professional testimony
- Current research on emerging drugs and their impact on impairment
Attendees had the opportunity to tailor their experience, gaining practical tools they can immediately apply in their agencies and communities.
100% of attendees would recommend the Symposium to their colleagues!
Hands-On Learning and Real-World Application
One of the Symposium’s standout features remains its live crash testing demonstrations, offering a rare and powerful look at vehicle dynamics, occupant protection systems, and investigative considerations. These experiential sessions continue to be a highlight, reinforcing classroom learning with real-world application.
A Hub for Innovation and Connection
The Exhibit Hall showcased the latest traffic safety technologies, products, and services, providing attendees direct access to solution providers and industry experts. From data tools to enforcement equipment, the Exhibit Hall served as a valuable resource for agencies seeking to enhance their capabilities.
Equally important was the opportunity for networking and collaboration. Throughout the week, attendees connected with peers from across the country, sharing challenges, successes, and ideas that extend far beyond the event itself.
Strong Engagement and Lasting Impact
The 2026 Symposium saw strong participation and engagement across sessions, networking events, and exhibitor interactions. The energy and commitment of attendees and partners alike underscore the critical importance of this work - and the collective dedication to reducing crashes, injuries, and fatalities on our roadways.
