February 9, 2026

Public Safety Technology Workshop Banner

Public safety professionals are invited to attend a free, one-day Public Safety Technology Workshop focused on modern tools and workflows used in crash investigation, crime scene documentation, and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). Hosted by IPTM at the University of North Florida in partnership with Duncan-Parnell, this immersive training takes place April 23, 2026, in Jacksonville.

This hands-on workshop provides a start-to-finish look at how today’s forensic technologies are used in real-world investigations - from field data collection to analysis and courtroom-ready presentation. Led by current and former law enforcement instructors, the training simulates realistic investigative scenarios and emphasizes best practices, efficiency, and accuracy.

Choose One Specialized Track

Participants may register for one of the following tracks:

  • Crash & Collision Investigation (Full Day)
Document and reconstruct a live simulated crash scene using GNSS, laser scanning, UAS-based mapping, and forensic software - just as you would for a complete case file.
  • Crime Scene Investigation (Full Day)
Work through a “body found in a pond” scenario, including above- and below-water documentation using INSonar technology for evidence location, recovery, and reporting.
  • Search & Rescue Using Florida-Compliant UAS (Afternoon Only)
Explore UAS deployment, overwatch, and AI-assisted tools designed to improve situational awareness and rapidly locate missing persons.

All attendees will receive an IPTM-issued training certificate for the track they complete.

What You’ll Learn

  • Practical field-to-finish forensic workflows
  • Scene documentation using GNSS, 3D laser scanning, drones, and sonar
  • Data processing and courtroom presentation techniques
  • NDAA / Blue List–compliant UAS operations for public safety
  • AI-assisted tools that support faster, more effective search and rescue

Educational Focus - No Sales

While manufacturing representatives may be on hand to answer technical questions, there will be no product sales or sales presentations. This workshop is strictly educational, giving attendees an unbiased opportunity to learn, ask questions, and see how technologies are applied in the field.

Who Should Attend

This workshop is open to active sworn and non-sworn law enforcement personnel, including crash investigators, crime scene investigators, forensic teams, and public safety agencies evaluating compliant UAS solutions.
