Enforcement Technology Testing Facility

IPTM has served as an independent, accredited testing facility for RADAR and LIDAR speed measuring devices for more than 20 years, supporting manufacturers, law enforcement agencies, and national verification programs. As noted by the International Association of Chiefs of Police, IPTM is one of the facilities that provides testing aligned with federal performance standards for devices seeking placement on the Conforming Products List (CPL) or verification under updated industry programs.

IPTM now maintains the Conforming Product List (CPL) formerly maintained by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Testing Standards

Our laboratory is fully equipped to conduct complete testing in accordance with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Performance Specifications, including:

• DOT HS 812 266 – Down the Road Radar Module
• DOT HS 809 811 – LIDAR Speed Measuring Device Performance Specifications

A device demonstrates compliance with the standard in effect at the time it was tested, which is why every edition of the list carries its own effective date.
